Import...

The Import option brings Computer Graphics Metafiles (CGM), PostScript files, and Image files (TIFF, GIF, XWD, JPEG, etc.) onto the canvas.

If you have purchased the PostScript Import option, an Import license will not be checked out until you have selected an Image or PostScript file to import onto the canvas. The license will not be checked back in until you exit PlotShop.

How to

1. Click on File in the Main Menu with the left-most mouse button.
2. Click on Import... and the following list will appear on your canvas:

   

3. Select the type of file to import and the following box will appear,with the filter mimicking the chosen file type in Step 2:

   

   OK: If the file exists in the directory under Files then highlight it and click on OK with the left-most mouse button (double clicking on the file name is equivalent to highlighting the name and clicking on OK).

   Filter: If the file does not exist in the directory and you need to move to another directory then you can either:

   • Highlight the filter and type in the desired path, then hit the Filter button.

   -OR-

   • Move around the directory structure by clicking on the <directory>/.. to move up one directory and hit the Filter button. A quick way of moving around is to just double-click on the entry.

   You can change the filter "on-the-fly" by highlighting the filter tag and replacing it with the desired file ending you wish to filter.

   Cancel: If you want to cancel the Import option, click on Cancel with the left-most mouse button.
